Authorities at Border Crossing Point Nadlac II have discovered, on Monday, 14 Turkish citizens that tried to illegally cross the border into Hungary, hidden in a tractor-trailer loaded with electronic products.
The tractor-trailer was driven by a Turkish driver transporting merchandise to Germany, informed the Arad Border Police.
"Following the conduct of thorough checks on the means of transport, in the freight compartment 14 foreign citizens were found hidden. The persons were taken over and transported to the headquarters of the sector for investigations where, following checks, the border policemen established they are Turkish citizens. They were intending to fraudulently reach a Schengen Area state," the quoted source shows.
The investigations regard both those hidden in the trailer, as well as the driver, who may stand accused of trafficking migrants.
