Border policemen have detected, in the past 24 hours, in the border crossing points and on the "green frontier", 60 illegal acts - 36 felonies and 24 misdemeanors, committed both by Romanian citizens, as well as foreign citizens, with the value of fines issued going over 28,800 RON.
"We detected, independently or in collaboration with other institutions, undeclared goods that were to be brought illegally in Romania, which exceeded the admitted customs ceiling or were suspect of counterfeiting, worth a total of 287,000 RON. Entry was denied for 18 foreign citizens, who did not meet the conditions imposed by the law and, furthermore, exit was denied to 19 Romanian citizens for various legal reasons," informs a release of the General Inspectorate of the Border Police (IGPF), sent, on Wednesday.
On Tuesday, 129,300 persons went through the border crossing points at the level of the entire country, Romanian and foreign citizens, using over 36,700 vehicles, of which 14,600 freighters. Exiting the country were approximately 59,700 persons using 16,300 vehicles, while 69,600 persons with 20,400 vehicles were entering the country.
The border with Hungary was transited by approximately 34,000 persons and 16,800 vehicles (7,300 freighters), of which 21,700 persons and 10,600 vehicles were exiting Romania, Agerpres informs.
