Agriculture Ministry envisages draft on de minimis aid for vegetable growing in protected areas
The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MADR) is continuing the programme to support vegetable production in protected areas for the off-season (autumn-winter 2023-2024), with more than 22 million euros allocated for this support, according to a draft decision published on the MADR website, told Agerpres.
Thus, vegetable growers will benefit from a de minimis aid of a maximum of 1,000 euro/1,000 sqm/beneficiary for the cultivation of tomatoes, bell peppers or long peppers, peppers for pickles, cucumbers, string beans, lettuce, spinach and green onions in protected areas.
The financial resources necessary for the implementation of the de minimis aid scheme provided for in this decision are RON 109.373 million, representing the equivalent of EUR 22.1 million, which are provided from the budget approved by the Ministry of Agriculture for 2024.
According to the draft, the de minimis aid scheme is granted to single enterprises/enterprises that carry out activity in the field of primary production of agricultural products, to support the production of vegetables grown in protected areas.
According to the MADR draft, applications will be submitted within 15 days of the entry into force of the Government Decision.
Production will be harnessed between 1 November 2023 and 31 January 2024, and payments will be made after 26 February 2024.
