Almost 72,000 persons enter Romania on Monday, more than 7,400 of whom Ukrainians

The General Inspectorate of the Border Police informs that, on Monday, 71,660 people entered Romania through the border crossing points nationwide, of whom 7,474 were Ukrainian citizens, down by almost 4pct compared to the previous day, told Agerpres.

According to a press release sent to AGERPRES on Tuesday, approximately 149,500 people, Romanian and foreign citizens, with more than 40,400 means of transport, went through the control formalities at the border check points throughout the country, both on the way in and on the way out.

As of February 10, 2022 (pre-conflict period), 2,549,170 Ukrainian citizens entered Romania.

In their areas of competence - the border crossing points and the "green border" - the border police detected 63 illegal acts (36 infractions and 27 contraventions) committed by both Romanian and foreign citizens, and the value of the contravention fines applied amounts to over 12,200 lei.

On Monday, 11 foreign citizens who did not meet the conditions provided for by law were not allowed to enter the country, and 16 Romanian citizens were not allowed to leave for various legal reasons.
