Around 2,000 professional soldiers took the Military oath on Friday in more than 50 major units of the Romanian Armed Forces, the Ministry of National Defence (MApN) announced.
In a message delivered on the occasion, Chief of Defense Staff, General Gheorghita Vlad congratulated the new recruits for their choice.
"It is a pride, but also a responsibility, as this career offers both challenges and satisfactions. It will not be easy, especially given the complexity and instability of the current security environment. However, you will have reliable companions by your side and together we will succeed in accomplishing the tasks entrusted to us," the Chief of Defense Staff pointed out, Agerpres informs.
The taking of the oath will be followed by a specialized training module, after which the soldiers will start their activity in the units in which they were assigned.
