"We are ready to start the 20th edition of the SoNoRo Festival! Together with Diana Ketler, the artistic director and co-founder of the festival, we have created a surprising, playful and charming program, full of humor and self-irony. Through the theme of this year's edition, 'Romanian Rhapsody', we wanted to honor Romania musically, because here we had an environment in which we were able to create good music, perform in extraordinary spaces, dream, experiment, delight the audience and learn over the years what we can do better. Romania has allowed us to do this extraordinary thing: to create a festival with a spirit that we have rarely seen in Europe - very open and close to the audience", said Răzvan Popovici, co-founder and executive director of the SoNoRo Festival, quoted in the press release.
According to the cited source, the festival spot is an animation inspired by the festival theme, treated in a playful way, and in which many of the Romanian symbols will be recognizable. The spot was made by the team formed by Matei Branea (script, direction and animation), Ana Branea (script and editing) and Dan-Stefan Rucareanu (Sound Design & Mix); with the support of Video Dialog and Smart Sound Studio.
The surprise of the anniversary edition of the festival is the exhibition "Visual Scores - Masterpieces from Private Collections": Grigorescu, Petrascu, Mutzner, Pallady, Tuculescu, Iancu, Brauner, Maxy - from November 8, at CultureHub Gallery - Kog7 Cultural Space.
The exhibition lasts one day and can be visited between 10:00 and 22:00.
The opening will take place at 11:00 and will include a matinee performed by SoNoRo Festival artists: Diana Tishchenko (violin), Răzvan Popovici (viola), Justus Grimm (cello) and the MoldoDuo ensemble.
Many works will be exhibited for the first time and belong to emblematic artists of the 20th century.
The exhibition is structured into three thematic salons: the Salon of Graphics (engraving, drawing, watercolor), the Salon of Modern, Surrealist and Avant-garde Painting, and the Salon of Classical Romanian Art.
Included in the festival program for three years now, SoNoRo Talk fosters discussions about classical music and the role it plays in our lives. This year, the public is invited on November 9, from 5:00 PM, to SoNoRo Talk: Longing and Gift, which will take place at ARCUB - Hanul Gabroveni, Sala Mare.
