The Prosecutor's Office attached to the Oradea Court of Appeal suspends its activity on Thursday, August 28, supporting the forms of protest of the magistrate judges regarding the project of their special pensions, agerpres reports.
According to a press release from the Prosecutor's Office, the General Assembly of prosecutors from the Prosecutor's Office attached to the Oradea Court of Appeal met on Wednesday, convened by the Superior Council of Magistracy, in order to express a point of view regarding the draft normative act on the modification of service pensions and the necessary measures to protect the status of magistrates and the independence of the judiciary.
On this occasion, several measures were unanimously decided, first of all, the indefinite suspension, starting with 28.08.2025, of the activity of the Prosecutor's Office attached to the Oradea Court of Appeal, with only urgent cases to be resolved (cases in which preventive measures have been ordered, or preventive measures are required; work on the execution of European arrest warrants and extradition requests; cases in which there is a risk of the incidence of criminal liability prescription) and other operational situations that cannot be postponed.
It was also decided to suspend for an indefinite period, also starting on Thursday, the public relations activity within the audience program.
The press release specifies that the participation of prosecutors from the Judicial Section in court hearings will only be in urgent cases in accordance with the form of protest adopted by the Oradea Court of Appeal.
Supporting the forms of protest of the magistrates, the prosecutors also decided to send the decision adopted during the General Assembly to the Superior Council of Magistracy, with the proposal for negative approval of the draft law for the amendment and completion of some normative acts in the field of magistrates' service pensions, in accordance with the point of view expressed by the Prosecutor's Office attached to the High Court of Cassation and Justice.
