The exhibition is curated by Tudor Zbarnea, the general manager of the National Art Museum of Moldova, comprising a selection of 65 works from several fields - painting, graphics, sculpture and decorative art - by, among others, Elena Bontea and Sergiu Cuciuc, who debuted in the 1960s; Simion Zamsa, Elena Karacentsev, Dumitru Bolboceanu, Ghenadie Jalba from the 1980s -1990s generations, as well as younger artists such as Igor Svernei, Florina Breazu, Gheorghe Tarna, Victor Macovei and Ruslan Tihonciuc.

According to a press statement released by the Cotroceni National Museum, the exhibition project is designed to bring to the public attention the freedom of artistic choices, both modern and traditional orientation of Moldovan creators.

"The Cotroceni National Museum is honoured to be able to display, at a significant moment, this representative selection of visual arts from Moldova. We want to continue our co-operation with the National Art Museum of Moldova, but, to the same extent, we would be delighted to be able to support cultural initiatives through which artists from Romania and the Republic of Moldova have the opportunity to exhibit jointly in the country or abroad," Director General of the Cotroceni National Museum Liviu Jicman is quoted as saying in the statement.

The exhibition will be open March 7-27, in the Mediaeval Halls. Visitors can take a tour of it unscheduled or as part of a full tour of the Cotroceni National Museum.
