The new head of ARTEXIM, Cristina Uruc, told AGERPRES on Thursday that the organization of the "George Enescu" International Competition is her main concern after taking office.
"We propose, together with master Cristian Macelaru, who is the artistic director of the "George Enescu" International Festival and Competition, to continue this event's organization to the highest standards, to maintain and develop new projects in the future. This week, our priority is to organize the "Enescu Competition." We have a little time left until the registration deadline, April 15, so we are focusing a lot now on this," said Uruc, Agerpres.ro informs.
After a "complete assessment of the current situation at ARTEXIM," Cristina Uruc wants the institution to "improve its working methods, maybe increase its team," because, she says, "there are very few people who work for the Enescu Festival and Contest."
Cristina Uruc wants to continue the collaboration with the former head of ARTEXIM, Mihai Constantinescu, too.
"We will collaborate. After so many years of experience in organizing and building the "George Enescu" Festival and International Competition, which Mr. Constantinescu has supported, created and developed, it is imperative that he is consulted at this time," added Uruc.
