Prosecutor General Augustin Lazar on Tuesday will participate in a meeting of the National Anti-corruption Directorate (DNA), at this institution's headquarters, after which Anca Jurma announced she no longer wants her mandate as interim chief at the DNA to be prolonged.
According to some DNA officials, the meeting is scheduled to be held at 11.00 am.
Minister of Justice Tudorel Toader on Monday announced that Anca Jurma will give up her nomination for interim chief prosecutor at the DNA, with a notification in this respect being sent during the meeting of the Section for Prosecutors of the Supreme Council of Magistrates (CSM).
The office of chief prosecutor at the DNA remained empty after Laura Codruta Kovesi was dismissed under a decree issued by President Klaus Iohannis on July 9, the latter being forced to do so because of a resolution of the Constitutional Court.
Subsequently, the Minister of Justice proposed the nomination of Adina Florea for chief prosecutor at the DNA. President Klaus Iohannis rejected this proposal.
