Minister of Environment Diana Buzoianu on Tuesday will participate, in Luxembourg, in the Environment Council meeting, where she will discuss the creation of the European Water Resilience Fund.

According to the European Commission, EU environment ministers are to adopt Council conclusions in preparation for the 2025 United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP30), which will take place in Belem, Brazil, November 10 to 21, 2025. The conclusions will serve as the EU's general negotiating position at COP30.

Ministers will also aim to approve conclusions on the European Water Resilience Strategy, which was adopted by the European Commission in June 2025. The strategy aims to address water scarcity and increase water efficiency by restoring the water cycle, promoting a competitive and circular water-smart economy and ensuring access to safe and affordable water.

Environment ministers will also hold an exchange of views on the European Ocean Pact, an initiative launched by the European Commission to strengthen EU ocean policy in six priority areas, from restoring marine health and boosting the blue economy to supporting coastal communities and strengthening maritime security.
