InfoCons and the Romanian Order of Architects (OAR) are launching an information campaign in the real estate field, designed to help consumers make informed choices when it comes to buying, modifying a home or contracting interior design services.

According to a press release sent to AGERPRES, this initiative aims to explain the basic terms in the field to everyone, so that citizens can better understand real estate offers and make informed decisions about their home.

At the same time, the campaign focuses on responding to the needs and frequently asked questions of homebuyers looking for the ideal home, so that they can make informed choices when buying/renting a home.

"The information in this campaign helps them make better choices. Through this campaign, the OAR and InfoCons aim to improve access to clear information and increase transparency in the real estate sector. In the medium term, it can contribute to better compliance with quality standards in architecture by capitalizing on the expertise of professionals and empowering bidders and authorities," the press release adds.

The first term addressed is "useful meters", which is important when buying or renting a home, being essential in correctly evaluating the offer.

"Knowing and understanding the differences between similar terms frequently used in real estate ads can make the difference between a successful investment and a less advantageous one. Specifically, an offer expressed in useful meters allows you to evaluate the actual usable space in the home you want to buy or rent, as opposed to those expressed in constructed meters, which quantify unusable segments. While the useful floor area is important for the comfort and functionality of the dwelling, the built-up area is mainly relevant for calculating the property tax," the press release mentions.
