The vote-counting process following the close of ballot casting for the election of Bucharest's new general mayor will be audio-video recorded in each polling station, with ballot boxes unsealed one by one, agerpres reports.

According to the Municipal Electoral Bureau, once voting ends and the polling station premises are closed, the station president ensures that the computer operator presses the button to close the station in the application only after the data of voters using the special ballot box have been validated in the system and/or after the data of voters entered in the 'Registration form for the National ID Numbers of voters who show up during a potential dysfunction of the Turnout Monitoring and Illegal Voting Prevention System' have been processed and validated.

The computer operator shall position the tablet to capture the clearest possible image of the entire vote-counting process and will begin audio-video recording of the polling station operations.

They will take the necessary technical measures to ensure continuous audio-video recording throughout the process.

The president of the polling station's electoral bureau will ensure that the recording of operations - from the close of voting until the transmission of the correlation check form to the Turnout Monitoring and Illegal Voting Prevention System - proceeds without interruption and without obstruction by anyone present, according to the Municipal Electoral Bureau.

Ballot boxes are unsealed one by one. After each box is opened, the president counts the ballots and reads aloud the name of the candidate marked on each ballot paper, showing it to those present.

Opened ballots are grouped by political parties, electoral alliances, and independent candidates, then counted and bound separately.

Information on voter turnout, results of correlation checks in the minutes, and scanned minutes will be published on the Permanent Electoral Authority's website at: https://prezenta.roaep.ro/.
