The number of companies and authorized natural persons (PFAs) that entered insolvency increased by more than 11pct in the first seven months of this year, compared to the same period in 2020, with 3,538 insolvencies recorded, according to data published on the website of the National Trade Register Office (ONRC).
Most of the companies and PFAs that went into insolvency were registered in Bucharest, respectively 669, in a slight increase - 0.90pct - compared to the period January-July 2020, when 663 companies were registered.
Following next, in terms of the number of insolvencies registered, were the Cluj - with 305 insolvencies (plus 61.38pct), Bihor - 249 (plus 3.32pct) and Timis - 174 (plus 3.57pct) counties.
The smallest number of insolvencies was registered in the counties of Harghita (10), Covasna and Tulcea (14 each) and Vaslui (17).
By fields of activity, the highest number of insolvencies was recorded in the wholesale, retail, repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles, respectively 1,045 (plus 15.47pct), constructions - 590 (plus 15.69pct) and industry processing - 448 (14.58pct).
In July 2021, 462 insolvencies were registered, most of them in the Capital City (65) and in the counties of Cluj (39), Bihor (25) and Timis (22), Agerpres informs.
