One of the largest interoperability exercises organised in Europe began in Romania on Sunday, the Romanian Gendarmerie said.
According to the source, more than 500 servicemen and gendarmes from 19 countries across three continents are taking part in the training, agerpres reports.
The exercise is being organised by the Romanian Gendarmerie at the Ochiuri Gendarmerie Personnel Training Centre in Dambovita County.
From 27 September to 2 October, several training activities, including tactical simulations and troop movements, will be carried out in Dambovita, Prahova, Arges and Ilfov counties.
According to the organisers, the exercise may also involve the use of drones and helicopters.
"There is no reason to panic. All activities are planned, controlled and form part of a training exercise, with no real danger to the public," the Gendarmerie said.
