Prime Minister Viorica Dancila reiterated in Strasbourg Romania's commitment to being a reliable partner in the EU decision-making process during our country's presidency of the Council of the European Union, a a government press release sent to AGERPRES says.
Prime minister Viorica Dancila and members of the Government attended on Monday evening in Strasbourg an official dinner offered by European Parliament President Antonio Tajani. Attending the event were also EP Vice-President Ioan Mircea Pascu, EP Secretary General Klaus Welle, S & D Group Chairman Udo Bullman, EPP Group Vice-President Marian Jean Marinescu, ECR Group Vice-President Olaf Henckel, ALDE Group Vice-President Norica Nicolai, co-chairpersons of the Romanian delegation in EPP - Adina Valean and Teodor Stolojan, the Romanian delegation leader in S & D - Dan Nica, EP President's Chief of Staff - Diego Vanga Fano and representatives of SGCONS.
The Romanian delegation included Carmen Dan - Minister of Internal Affairs, Rovana Plumb - Minister of European Funds, Teodor Melescanu - Minister of Foreign Affairs, Eugen Teodorovici - Minister of Public Finance, Marius Constantin Budai - Minister of Labor and George Ciamba - Minister-delegate for European Affairs.
"Prime minister Viorica Dancila reiterated Romania's commitment to being a reliable partner in the EU decision-making process during our country's presidency of the EU Council. In this context, the prime minister expressed the desire to advance as many of the legislative files in the first part of the term of the Romanian presidency. Viorica Dancila assured her interlocutors of the complete availability of the Government of Romania to a sustained institutional cooperation, in view of consolidating the European Union and bringing it closer to the citizens," reads the release.

The President of the European Parliament, Antonio Tajani wished good luck to Romania's presidency of the EU Council, the first presidency since accession, and expressed his openness and that of the European Parliament to closely work and cooperate with a view to closing the legislative files, the Gov't release further shows.
