PNL's Bogdan: PSD has tried to dominate the coalition, we've been way too nice
National Liberal Party (PNL) First Deputy Chairman Rares Bogdan stressed on Monday that the Liberals do not want to leave the government, but mentioned that in recent months the two parties in the coalition have not been "on an equal footing," which is why the PNL will change its attitude, told Agerpres.
"The PNL does not leave the government, it does not leave the ship when it is difficult, in the middle of a storm. We took over the government during the pandemic, during the beginning of the war in Ukraine and during the extremely complicated times of the energy crisis. We have no reason to leave the government, but we will be extremely tough from now on and we must be treated on equal terms, because we will no longer accept any kind of attack and any kind of attempt to isolate the PNL or to corner our mayors, the presidents of county councils or our representatives in the territory," said Rares Bogdan, in a press statement before the coalition meeting.
He mentioned that when a Liberal first deputy chair, such as Dan Motreanu, is attacked by "marginal characters," the PNL will react "overmuch."
"We have been the way too nice boys in the coalition. We are going to become the extremely aggressive, extremely tough and extremely radical boys in the coalition. It ended well. (...) The moment Raluca Turcan or Catalin Predoiu or Alina Gorghiu or George Flutur or Rares Bogdan are attacked, we won't hold back and we'll let our mouths react on the spot, the moment that happens. I mean, we know how to respect, but we have to be respected," said Rares Bogdan.
