Christian believers will be able to meet Pope Francis in Iasi in the afternoon of June 1, in the square in front of the Palace of Culture, representatives of the Iasi Roman-Catholic Diocese announced on Tuesday.
Priest Adrian Blajuta, who is in charge with the media office of the Iasi Diocese, reminded that the programme of the visit is not ready yet, as it might suffer changes.
"The level of expectation is pretty high. Everybody wants to come to Iasi. We will see how we can make this happen. We wish that this event will be as open as possible to anybody, not only for the Catholics. The level of expectation is pretty high when it comes to Pope Francis's visit. Very many Christians want to participate. The Pope's visit to Iasi also means increased security means. Thus, a space is going to be arranged close to the altar, where Pope Francis will be and people will be able to enter based on invitations and free tickets, received upon request from their parishes in the Iasi Diocese," stated priest Adrian Blajuta.
