The Minister of Health, Alexandru Rafila, declared on Friday that the temporary interruption of the educational activity with physical presence could be decided only if there are many cases of illness with the new coronavirus, and the activity will be blocked, Agerpres reports.
He said that if the number of cases of infection with the new coronavirus reaching the hospital is small, then there will be no reason to interrupt school activities.
According to him, the schools were closed for months, when there were 100-200 cases per day, "totally unjustified".
He maintained that the reproduction rate for the Omicron strain is about 15, which is 5 times more than for the original strain.
The Minister of Health, Alexandru Rafila, visited the "Grigore Alexandrescu" Emergency Clinical Hospital for Children in Bucharest on Friday.
Rafila discussed with the management team and the department heads about the preparation of the health unit in this epidemiological context and visited several departments.
Rafila: With a small proportion of cases reaching hospital, we have no reason to interrupt school activity
