Romania needs the professionalization of educational management, and the new MBA Program in Economics of Education and Leadership (EEL) can be a "pilot" for a national project to train leaders in education, minister Ligia Deca emphasized on Wednesday, at the launch of EEL MBA at the Academy of Economic Studies (ASE), informs Agerpres.
"This MBA aimed at the economics of education and leadership is a unique partnership between three very powerful entities: ASE, the World Bank and the ER Young company. It is a public-private partnership, which aims to train future leaders in education, whether we are talking about school leadership, university leadership or even people to work in the Ministry of Education and in public institutions that make strategies, laws, public policies... We also need the professionalization of educational management, this program can be a pilot for a national program for training leaders in education," Deca said.
"I think it is very important to have the economic arguments for investing in education, and that is why the involvement of the World Bank in this program was very important. They run a training of trainers program precisely to have the best specialists to disseminate knowledge further. (...) It is an initiative that we hope will return to the public institutions with added value," Ligia Deca specified.
In turn, rector Nicolae Istudor pointed out the role of ASE in the development of this kind of programs.
"The time has come for ASE to develop its MBA program. (...) The program can benefit both from our experience, but also from the experience of some representatives of our partners. We have selected 16 colleagues in the disciplines of the educational program. (.. .) This program represents the first step towards a new vision of the educational system in our country. We hope that we will have the opportunity to replicate this program at the regional level as well, as a proposal of the Academy of Economic Studies," said Istudor.
