Romania needs a stable government not only until the elections, but also after the elections, interim president Ilie Bolojan said on Thursday evening.
"I think we are aware of the fact that Romania needs a stable government not only until the elections, but also after the elections, because a stable government and political stability are a condition for our country to remain in a situation of budgetary and economic stability, something that means that there are conditions for the absorption of European funds, to conduct reforms and to ensure growth opportunities in the future," Ilie Bolojan told a press conference, after attending the European Council meeting in Brussels.
If political stability is not respected, the interim president emphasized, this will contribute to the downgrading of the country and will generate "great economic complications, first of all for ordinary people, who have to think about paying their installments, the loans they have in the bank and their daily expenses".
