Romania won ten medals - two gold, two silver and six bronze - at the 50th edition of the Balkan Senior Table Tennis Championships in Istanbul, according to the Romanian Table Tennis Federation.
The gold medals went to the women's team (Ioana Singeorzan, Elena Zaharia, Bianca Mei-Rosu) and the Andrei Istrate/Darius Toma duo in the men's doubles.
Silver was won by Bianca Mei-Rosu, in the women's singles, and the Darius Toma/Ioana Singeorzan duo in mixed doubles.
The bronze medals were awarded to the men's team (Matei Dumitrescu, Andrei Istrate, Darius Toma), the Matei Dumitrescu/Elena Zaharia duo in mixed doubles, and Elena Zaharia/Bianca Mei-Rosu in women's doubles, as well as to Andrei Istrate, Matei Dumitrescu, both in men's singles, and Elena Zaharia, in women's singles.
Romania did not line up its best players, but youth teams.
