Commander of the Romanian Gendarmerie Sebastian Cucos is attending a NATO conference in Rome, Italy, November 9-10, during which a two-day workshop will take place in which experts from the NATO member countries and civil society leaders contribute to drafting the concept of stability operations. At the end of the two-day conference, a NATO Allied Command Transformation (NATO ACT) team will analyse the findings and put forth recommendations for the project manager, the Romanian Gendarmerie said in a press statement on Friday.
The first activity of this kind took place in October 2016, followed by the one organised in February 2017 by the Romanian Gendarmerie in Bucharest, and a May meeting in Amsterdam. The head of the Romanian Gendarmerie participated as an expert in these previous activities organised by NATO ACT.
At this event, Romania is represented by Dorel-Gheorghe Caprar, chairman of Parliament's Committee on Defence, Public Order and National Security, and Commander of the Romanian Gendarmerie Sebastian Cucos. The invitation to Cucos to attend the 4th workshop under the project "Capabilities of NATO's stability Policing amidst emerging security challenges" is said to be the result of constant involvement of the Romanian Gendarmerie in the unfolding of the project.
