Competing on Monday in the 10-meter air rifle at the European Shooting Championships in Osijek (Croatia), Laura Georgeta Ilie claimed the gold in the women's individual event and a bronze in the team event.
Laura Georgeta Ilie (Dinamo Sports Club), coached by Dana Cohanciuc, managed to dominate the final scoring 252.3 points, the silver went to Audrey Gogniat of Switzerland - 250.9 points, while Serbian Aleksandra Havran took home the bronze with 229.4 points.
The Romanian shooter had entered the final of eight with the fourth score (632.9 points). Her fellow national Roxana Sidi ranked 38th (626.4), and Adriana-Roberta Teodorescu finished 53rd (625.1).
In the team event, Romania's lineup (Ilie, Sidi, Teodorescu) finished third with 1,884.4 points, ahead of Norway (Jeanette Hegg Duestad, Mari Baardseng Loevseth, Amalie Evensen) - 1,896.9 points, and Hungary (Eszter Denes, Eszter Meszaros, Gitta Bajos) - 1,885.6 points.
Laura Ilie also won the European gold in 2019 and 2020, and is also a gold medallist at the 2019 European Games in Minsk. AGERPRES
