Parliament's Social Dialogue Committee on Tuesday approved a draft order of the minister of education regarding the school term dates for the 2023-2024 school year that includes a proposal for the vacation to overlap Easter, the Ministry of Education announced on Tuesday on its Facebook page, told Agerpres.
The draft order in its final form says that classes will cover 36 weeks.
Classes in the next school year will start on September 11, 2023 and end on June 21, 2024.
The national programmes "Different learning" and the "Green Week" will take place between September 11, 2023 and April 12, 2024, as decided by each school.
The vacation week will be between February 19 and March 10, 2024.
"The decision that the next school year will be structured by class modules and vacation intervals is based, on the one hand, on the importance of ensuring rhythmicity for the educational process, and on the other hand, on the impossibility of a relevant evaluation of the impact of the current form of organisation before the end of a school year. A relevant evaluation of the impact of the organisation of the school year by modules alternating with vacation times will be possible after the end of the 2022-2023 school year."
