Speaker Dragnea, Vice President Shen Yueyue on importance of Romanian-Chinese relations

The importance of the Romanian-Chinese relations was underlined at the meeting between the Chamber of Deputies' Speaker, Liviu Dragnea and the Vice President of the Standing Committee of the National Congress of the Chinese People and President of the Women's Federation of Entire China, Shen Yueyue, a release by the Chamber of Deputies sent to AGERPRES on Monday informs.

The meeting was an opportunity to bring to mind the relations between Romania and China, that are enjoying a high trustworthiness capital and are grounded on the traditional friendship between the two peoples. In context, Speaker Dragnea expressed interest for the enhancement of the political dialogue, so that it will represent a tool in boosting bilateral collaboration, the release adds. 

Considering the excellent economic cooperation, China being Romania's main commercial partner in Asia, the two dignitaries found that opportunities exist to extend collaboration in this field, through both commercial exchanges and investment projects tabled by our country. 

Standing out among the strategic fields in which China could become main investor are: energy, in particular units 3 and 4 of the Cernavoda Nuclear Plant, and the construction of an energy group at the Rovinari thermo-electric power plant, alongside a series of large infrastructure projects for Romania, given our country's strategic positioning on the European transport corridors and additionally, on the New Silk Roads. By capitalizing on Romania's geographic position, it can become a relevant component of the transport corridors between Europe and Asia, in particular through the Constanta Port and the Danube. 

The two dignitaries expressed satisfaction towards the stage of certain ongoing partnerships, mentioning the establishment of some industrial parks, and the initiative of the Liaoning region to carry out a Chinese industrial park in the southern County of Prahova, focused on IT and edge technologies, medical equipment and electric vehicles, with an estimated value of 200 million euro.
