The Violoncellissimo ensemble, led by Marin Cazacu, will perform an extraordinary concert on December 1, the National Day of Romania, in the OsloMet Hall of the Metropolitan University of Oslo (Norway), told Agerpres.
The Violoncellissimo ensemble, invited to Oslo, will include 12 cellists, a piano player and a percussionist who will perform works by Johann Schrammel, G.Fr. Handel, Constantin Dimitrescu, Cornelia Tautu, Astor Piazzolla, Burt Bacharach/ V. Despalj (arrangement), Dmitri Shostakovici, Rimski Korsakov, Ramin Djawadi, Radu Sinaci, Freddie Mercury and Sabin Pautza (arrangement), informs a statement sent to AGERPRES on Monday.
"We are honoured to celebrate Romania's National Day in Norway, and the musical programme we have chosen for this very special occasion includes very diverse works, in which the expressiveness of the cello will be highlighted in as many registers as possible. We will perform famous works of classical music, Romanian works and our own arrangements of popular pieces, in a music repertoire starting from classical and reaching pop, jazz and even rock, with which we will delight the audience in Oslo," said maestro Marin Cazacu.
The event is organized by the Romanian Youth National Art Centre, in partnership with the Romanian Cultural Institute in Stockholm and the Romanian Embassy in the Kingdom of Norway.
