Visionary PR & Influencer Marketing Manager have invested over 80,000 euros in a ridesharing app intended for intra-urban and extra-urban trips - Zer0, told Agerpres.
According to a press release sent to AGERPRES on Tuesday, Zer0 is the only platform in Romania that offers an economic and sustainable solution to urban pollution and daily traffic, being intended for both intra-city trips and those outside the city, over longer distances.
Drivers traveling short distances, up to 60 km, can register their trips in the Zer0 app and receive requests from nearby users. All users registered in the platform have access to an unlimited number of intra-city trips, based on a monthly subscription of 30 RON. Thus, daily activities that require travel in the city become more sustainable, more advantageous and more fun, considerably reducing the users' carbon footprint.
In the case of long-distance trips outside the city, Zer0 provides users with an interface that allows them to calculate the price of the trip, subsequently choosing cash or card payment.
The app has already been launched, following an investment of over 80,000 euros, money allocated to its development and, implicitly, to the technology it incorporates. By the end of 2023, the company aims to reach a number of at least 5,000 users in the application, clients and companies.
"The ridesharing platform is the answer found by George Rizica, founder of the Zer0 company, to the impact that air pollution has on human health and the environment. At the European level, 68 percent of the deaths associated with pollution are caused by air pollution. At the national level, the figures become all the more worrisome as Romania ranks 88th in the world in terms of fine particle pollution, 20% of the deaths recorded in the country being correlated with atmospheric pollution, double the European Union average," the press release states.
According to the cited source, road traffic in Romania generates the greatest air pollution, in the proportion of 70 percent. Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca and Brasov are the most affected cities, the pollution being due to the emissions produced by old and diesel vehicles. In Bucharest, the most congested city in the EU, during a year, drivers and passengers spend approximately 198 additional hours in traffic, the equivalent of eight days and six hours.

The Zer0 app is addressed both to individual customers and to companies that want to encourage employees to travel sustainably. By signing up company fleets in the app, employees can share trips to and from the office with other nearby users, thus contributing to a cleaner environment.
A graduate of the Faculty of Economic Cybernetics, Statistics and Informatics within the University of Economic Studies (ASE), George Rizica worked for a long time in the aviation industry. In 2014, he joined the Blue Air airline, not yet launched at that time, where he held the position of Sales & Charter Manager until 2008, later holding the position of Director of Planning & Revenue Management, until 2020. Until 2021, he offered consultancy in aviation, to then choose the path of entrepreneurship and develop the Zer0 app.
