FC Dinamo Bucharest eased into the final of the League Cup after defeating 3-1 (1-0) its big rival FC Steaua Bucharest on Wednesday night on the Arena Nationala of Bucharest, in a match counting for the 2nd round of the competition's semifinals.
Dinamo, which imposed with 4-1, has won thanks to the goals scored by Dan Nistor (37), Patrick Petre (74) and Sergiu Hanca (82 - penalty), while for Steaua Denis Alibec (64 - penalty) brought the only goal.
The team based in downtown Soseaua Stefan cel Mare has reached three victories in a row in the derbies with Steaua, which has not scored a victory for 10 matches now against its big rival.
Noticeable is the excellent debut of Cosmin Contra as Dinamo coach, after three consecutive victories: 1-0 v FC Botosani, 2-1 v CSU Craiova, both championship matches, and now 3-1 v Steaua.
Rivaldinho, the son of former great Brazilian footballer Rivaldo, marked his debut at Dinamo.
The Dinamo fans gallery have unfolded a banner saying "We want a stadium", while the Steaua fans bore contradictory message, such as "Single Steaua is in League I now" and "FCSB is not Steaua."
In the finals, on 20 May Dinamo will play against ACS Poli Timisoara, that has won to ASA Targu Mures 4-2 away, and 3-1 at home.
