More than 25 events, scheduled over nine days dedicated to photography and visual education, proposed by special guests from Indonesia, the UK, USA, Greece, Iceland, Japan, Hungary, Italy, will be on the agenda of the 7th edition of Bucharest Photofest, inform the organizers, in a press release sent to AGERPRES on Thursday.

This year's edition takes place from Saturday until October 9 in several spaces in Bucharest and brings together exhibitions, film screenings, discussions and debates, practical workshops, video projections and installations, but also live concerts, brought together under the theme "Trust/Incredere".

"This year's edition emphasizes a lot of interaction, examples in this sense being the practical workshops on photography, but also on videography, walks across the city for urban photography and, above all, on the first day of the festival, a special event taking place at the National University of Theatre and Film I. L. Caragiale in Bucharest titled 'Perspectives and images in medium and large format' held by university professors from the photography department. We are also with the refugee children from Ukraine, and, together with Save the Children Romania, we have included events dedicated to them in the programme," say the organizers.

One of this edition's distinguished guests is the artist Sigurethur Olafur Sigurethsson (Iceland), who will deliver a presentation about his activity as a photojournalist and his rich experience in the field of documentary photography.

Among the events on this year's agenda are the must-see exhibitions "The land of the sea" - Irene Barlian (Indonesia), "Rewired" - Felicia Simion (Romania), "Dispatches from Malawi" - Danilo Arenas (Japan), "Greece's Dirty Secret" - Anna Pantelia (Greece), "Emotions" - Rares Besliu (Romania), as well as the presentations and stories signed by Radu Diaconescu, Adrian and Roxana Carmaciu, Alin Anghelovici.

A series of lectures will be given by Italian specialists, curators and photographers Alessandra Capodacqua, Donata Pizzi, Steve Bisson with the title "Empowering the Female Gaze. Italian Women Photographers from the Collezione Donata Pizzi, 1965-2022".

Bucharest Photofest aims to be the most important festival in the field in Romania, which transforms photography into a tool of visual education, and has assumed the mission of mediating the access of the general public to some of the most important landmarks in domestic and international photography.
