The Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB) closed Monday's trading session 2% lower on most indices and RON 177.54 million (EUR 35.67 million) worth of transactions, up from RON 146.42 million (EUR 29.41 million).
Share trading exceeded 144.58 million RON (about 29.05 million EUR), the most liquid being the shares of Banca Transilvania - RON 60.09 million, followed by OMV Petrom - RON 30.26 million and Hidroelectrica - RON 13.70 million, Agerpres.
The main BET index, which tracks the most liquid 20 companies, lost 2.38% to 16,483.03 points, while the BET-Plus index which shows the evolution of the top liquid 43 shares registered a 2.36% decline.
The extended blue-chip index BET-XT of the top-liquid 25 issuers closed 2.18% lower, while the BET-FI index of the five financial investment companies went down 0.61%.
The return benchmark index for stock investment funds BET-BK closed the trading session 2.15% down, while the sectoral energy and related utilities index BET-NG decreased 1.97%.
The BET AeRO index of the 20 representative companies on the AeRO market decreased 0.62%.
According to BVB, the best performing issuers were Altur (+3.88%), Electromagnetica (+3.36%) and Rompetrol Well Services (+2.52%).
Conversely, the issuers on a significant downward trend were Electroaparataj (-14.52%), Mecanica Fina (-10.06%) and Condmag (-7.69%).
