David Popovici, Robert Glinta to compete in Romania's National Short Course Swimming Championships

David Popovici, double world and European swimming champion in the 100 and 200 m freestyle, and Robert Glinta, the 2020 100 m backstroke European swimming champion will be competing in Romania's National Short Course Swimming Championships at Otopeni, November 10-13, a trial stage for the World Short Course Swimming Championships in Melbourne, December 13-18, told Agerpres.

According to the official schedule, Popovici will compete in the 100 m freestyle, 200 m freestyle, and 400 m freestyle events.

Glinta, 5th in the 2022 World Swimming Championsips in Budapest in the 50m backstroke, will compete in the 200 m backstroke, 100 m backstroke, 50 m backstroke and 50 m freestyle events.

Bianca Costea of CSA Steaua, a junior world champion and European vice-champion in the women's 50 m freestyle events, will compete in the 50 m freestyle and the 100 m freestyle races.

The two swimmers of CS Dinamo are preparing for their first major competition of the new season, the World Short Course Swimming Championships in Melbourne, December 13-18. Popovici in a one-time short course European champion, in 2021 in Kazan, Russia, while Glinta is a one-time European vice-champion in the 100 m backstroke (2021) and a bronze medallist in the 100 m backstroke event at the 2021 World Championships in Abu Dhabi.
