Dozens of Ukrainian refugees - mostly orphans, elderly and mothers with children - are being sheltered in hotels of the Mangalia seaside resorts, as the local authorities, tourism operators and churches are fully engaged in providing assistance in the Ukraine humanitarian crisis, a release informs.
The Ukrainians dislocated to Mangalia are offered hot meals, medicines and other items of strict necessity.
"We are currently housing Ukrainian seniors, mothers with children, but also orphaned children who were able to save themselves from the bombing. The parentless children are having the hardest time and we are doing everything we can to provide them with the conveniences they need to alleviate their suffering. Apart from hospitality agents, the priests of this city and other zestful people have come to our aid, and I hereby thank them all for their involvement and humanity. We are in constant contact with the state institutions, we cooperate with the authorities for the best possible correlation and coordination of our plan of action," declared Mangalia mayor Radu Cristian, Agerpres.ro informs.
