Actor Ion Caramitru, film producer Ada Solomon and pianist Alexandra Dariescu are the winners of the three special awards of the 7th edition of the Radio Romania Cultural Gala, event that will take place on 20 March, at the Odeon Theater, a release sent to agerpres. on Friday informs.
Director of the "I.L.Caragiale" National Theater in Bucharest Ion Caramitru, who is also the President of the Romanian Association of Theater Artists - UNITER will receive the Excellency Award "for the spirit youth and behavior of a man of theater as actor, director, manager and eminent promoter of national and universal values of the art of entertainment."
The award titled "In Memoriam of Iosif Sava" will go to pianist Alexandra Dariescu. Starting with the Albert Hall in London to the Carnegie Hall in New York, Romanian Alexandra Dariescu charmed music lovers with her natural born musicality and a captivating stage presence. Alexandra Dariescu was included by the International Piano Magazine in the ranking of 30 world's pianists under 30 years who are destined for a spectacular career, the release points out.
Ada Solomon, who is the first producer of Romania's cinema history to have been nominated for an Oscar award in the Best Foreign Language Film category ("Tony Erdmann"), will be awarded with the Mundi Lux Award.
Ada Solomon, a member of the European Film Academy, also produced the film "Aferim!", directed by Radu Jude, which won the Silver Berlin Bear (at the Berlin International Film Festival, for Best Director category - e.n.). Ada Solomon is also the recipient of a Golden Berlin Bear award, for the film "Pozitia copilului" (Child's Pose) that was directed by Catalin Peter Netzer.
The three special awards will add up to another nine distinctions in as many categories, for the best cultural achievements of 2016 - film, theater, poetry, prose, cultural projects and festivals, education, science, music and plastic arts.
The artistic performances of the Radio Romania Cultural Gala will be ensured by Adrian Nour Project and the event will be presented by Daniela Ivanov and Dragos Muscalu, who are the hosts of the radio station morning shows.
The 7th edition of the Radio Romania Cultural Gala is produced by Radio Romania Cultural in partnership with the Odeon Theater.
The show will be broadcast live, on-air and online, by the Radio Romania Cultural. The recorded show will be broadcast by the Gala's co-producer, namely the Romanian National Television (TVR).
