Most AstraZeneca vaccination centres in Romania to get Pfizer vaccine from Saturday

Chief coordinator of Romania's COVID-19 mass immunisation campaign Valeriu Gheorghita told a news conference on Wednesday, that the AstraZeneca vaccination centres in the country will be allocated the Pfizer vaccine "most likely" from Saturday on.

He added that all the AstraZeneca centres will stay operational to make sure all the persons vaccinated with a first dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine will get their second dose as well. He added that in each county there will be at least one AstraZeneca vaccination centre, preferably in towns and cities for those who want to be given this vaccine, agerpres.ro confirms.

According to him, on Wednesday as of 15:00hrs, local, over 180 people got vaccinated in family physician's practices with the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.

Gheorghita had a meeting on Wednesday with representatives of prefectures and public healthcare directorates on the COVID-19 vaccination campaign.
