Over 60% of employers will distribute benefits for Easter, and most of the employees will receive bonuses, money vouchers or gift vouchers and baskets with specific holiday products, according to a survey conducted by an online recruitment platform.
According to the eJobs survey, 65.6% of the participating employers will offer Easter benefits to employees. Most of them will distribute cash bonuses, and the second most frequently offered benefit are money vouchers or gift vouchers. The list of benefits continues with additional days off and baskets of holiday products.
"Over 80% of employers generally offer extra-salary benefits to employees, but, in addition to the monthly package, there are also packages specially designed for the holidays, Easter and Christmas. While companies usually allocate a more consistent budget for Christmas, at Easter we are talking about lower values," Ana Calugaru, Head of Communications at eJobs, says in a press statement.
Thus, 57.1% of the participants said that the packages they will offer this year for Easter is valued between RON 200 and RON 400 each employee. 23.8% have allocated a budget between RON 400 and RON 600 and only 4.8% invest over RON1,000 per employee for this purpose. 4.8% have a modest budget, between RON 100 and RON 200.
"There are not big differences from the last year from this point of view, given that 85.7% of employers say they have kept the same value as in 2024 and only 14.3% have increased it. Interestingly, however, we do not see any decreases, although companies are increasingly attentive to costs. One of the explanations could lie in the fact that I understand that such benefits influence the level of employee satisfaction, an extremely important element this year, when some employers are unable to make salary increases higher than a few percentage point, while others will not do it at all," added Calugaru.
As many as 72% of the employers believe that these benefits have an important role in maintaining well-being among employees, while a quarter of respondents believe that they do not have a real impact, but their absence would certainly generate dissatisfaction.
When asked, at the same time, what benefits they think the company would help them differentiate themselves in the market as a desirable employer, more than half (58.6%) of the employers participating in the survey mentioned extra wages for all the company's employees. 41.4% indicated four-day working week, with the shortening of the working hours to 32 hours per week, 24.1% the extension of the benefits package to include family members, and 17.2% covering household expenses.
The survey was conducted between March and April on a sample of 80 employers.
