The period trams will run on May 1 alongside the new trams of the Bucharest Transport Company (STB) fleet, in a journey carried out with brass band music and stories about people, trams and the city, STB announced on Tuesday.
"The Bucharest Transport Company invites you on May 1 to leave your routine at home and be part of an urban spectacle you rarely see: the Tram Parade - a journey between the past and the future, carried out to the rhythm of fanfare and energy for an entire city. From 12:00hrs, Bucharest resounds differently. The trams of the past - the Simmering Wagon, the V56 Wagon, the EPV3A 6001 Wagon, the Rathgeber Wagon and the Confectionery Wagon - set off along with the new trams of the STB fleet - Bucur LF 417 and Imperio - strengthening the connection between the old times and the city of today. On the route between Victoria Depot - Bucur Obor - Sfantu Gheorghe Square and back, the streets will vibrate in fanfare chords, which will accompany the entire parade from a special wagon prepared with good will and live music", STB posted on Facebook.
The transport operator of Bucharest will also offer "sweet surprises" and will launch a special edition of the newspaper, namely a collection of stories about people, trams and the city, "carefully collected for each traveler".
