The ambassador of Spain to Romania Manuel Larrotcha was welcomed on Wednesday in a presentation visit by Daniel, Patriarch of the Romanian Orthodox Church (BOR), the two addressing among other things, the matter of the Romanian children in Spain's regional placement centres, a release by BOR informs.
These children, says the release, have no identity documents therefore, they cannot benefit from all the facilities their belonging to the Spanish state and to the European Union would naturally grant.
"Mr. ambassador thanked for the reception and appreciated the good relationship between the two countries, underlining the contribution of the Romnaian community in Spain in the social, economic and cultural fields. According to him, the Romanians established in Spain have a good reputation, strengthened through their serious attitude towards work and their good integration, their linguistic skills included, being already taken for good citizens and not for aliens," the source adds.
In his turn, patriarch Daniel expressed his joy related to Romania's and the Romanian Orthodox Church's good representation in Spain, emphasising on the need to continue approaches of full integration of the Romanian Orthodox Bishopric among the other cults officially recognised by the Spanish state, the release says.
