Former president Traian Basescu on Sunday stated that this is a decisive day, and the people will probably decide through vote either for the pro-Moscow option or for the pro-Euro-Atlantic option, agerpres reports.
"It is a crucial vote, I would say, we are at a crossroads with clear options towards the West or towards the East. In fact, some media channels adopted a pro-Moscow policy and they constantly blamed, through public figures and analysts, the last 20 years, saying that they were not good for Romania. I mean, these are exactly the years when we joined NATO and the European Union. Probably today the people will decide whether these years were actually good or not. If the option is pro-Moscow, one candidate will be voted for, if the option is pro-Euro-Atlantic, the other candidate will be voted for. That's all. It is a decisive day," Basescu said after voting in the second round of the presidential elections.
