Prince Charles has arrived on Wednesday in Bucharest, for a three-day official visit to Romania, during which he will have meetings with President Klaus Iohannis and Prime Minister Sorin Grindeanu, but also with members of some NGOs. During the first day of his official visit, Prince Charles will lay a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and will meet President Klaus Iohannis at the Cotroceni Presidential Palace.
The discussions between President Iohannis and Prince Charles will target the development and deepening of the Strategic Partnership between Romania and the United Kingdom, including the security domain, the evolution of relations between the two countries in the perspective of Brexit, with emphasis on the situation of the Romanian community in the United Kingdom, as well as the ample charitable activity conducted by the Prince of Wales to Romania.
The head of state will confer on Prince Charles the Grand Cross of the Star of Romania, as a token of appreciation for his activity in Romania and for the promotion of its image in the world, in a ceremony organized at the Cotroceni Palace. This is the second official visit of the Prince of Wales to Romania, since 1998 and to today. The Romanian National News Agency Agerpres is the sole media partner of the event.
