Romania wins another eight medals in European Youth Weightlifting Championships, in Poland

The Romanian athletes have won on Monday eight new medals at the European Youth Weightlifting Championships (U23) in Zamosc (Poland). 

In the 69 kg category, Paul Dumitrascu grabbed the gold medal in the clean and jerk event (170 kg) and in total (302 kg) while in the snatch event he ranked sixth, with 132 kg. 

In the 58 kg category, Raluca Andreea Olaru won the gold medal in the snatch event (90 kg) and the silver medal in the clean and jerk event (197 kg), while Andreea Penciu won silver in the snatch (89 kg) and bronze in the clean and jerk event (107 kg) and in total (196 kg). 

Romania's medal tally reached 12 in the European Youth Weightlifting Championships, (3-4-5), 3-4-4 in the junior events and only one bronze medal in the U-23 events. 

Romania is participating with 15 athletes in the European Youth Weightlifting Championships, 4 boys and 7 girls in the youth event and one girl in the Under-23 event.
