A group of 30 specialists in modern construction technologies, from nine countries, representatives of the partners of the European project AEGIR, financed with 10.5 million euros within the Horizon Europe initiative, arrived in Oradea to present stage results on Tuesday and Wednesday at the headquarters of the Romanian partner, inform agerpres.ro.
The European project started on 1 October, 2022, and will end on 30 September 2026, aiming to tackle the challenge of modernizing Europe's aging building stock, much of which lacks modern energy efficiency standards, by designing modular renovation packages, with low carbon emissions and industrialized.
"There is a general meeting that takes place every six months in this project, where each partner presents their results so far. This European research aims to develop advanced building envelopes for energy-efficient rebuilding," the manager of Termoline company, Horia Ban, president of the Romanian Geoexchange Society (SRG) told AGERPRES on Tuesday.
According to him, the meeting participants will see and analyze, in Oradea, one of the four demonstration buildings proposed as pilot projects, modernization models with modern, non-polluting technologies. It is a single-family house, which proves that the project is also viable in the residential sector without significantly disturbing the occupants of the building. The other three demonstration buildings in the project are in Spain (a school), in France (a public building) and in Denmark (a social housing), which are to be modernized.
The Oradea-based company Termoline participates in this consortium made up of 29 organizations from nine countries: eight European research centres (including Cambridge University), three consulting associations, 15 specialized companies that produce technologically advanced materials in the field of construction, three local administrations.
The project involves all actors in the construction and energy management value chain with local and international SMEs, large companies, public authorities. Local and international clusters are also included to verify developments at the European level.
