Begu-Olaru, main seeds of BRD Bucharest Open women`s doubles

The duo of Romanian tennis player Irina Begu and Raluca Olaru is the main seed of the BRD Bucharest Open (WTA) tournament, with prizes worth 226,750 US dollars, that takes place at the BNR Arenas of Bucharest.

In the first round, Begu and Olaru are to face off the pairing made up of Ana Bogdan and Elena-Gabriela Ruse.

Another Romanian duo, made up of Jaqueline Cristian and Cristina Dinu, will play against the pairing made up of Alona Fomina (Ukraine)/Varatchaya Wongteanchai (Thailand). The Thai tennis player holds the Bucharest title in doubles, pairing in 2016 with Australian Jessica Moore.

Irina Bara and Croatian Tereza Mrdeza are to play in the first round with the 3rd seeded Oksana Kalashnikova (Georgia) and Renata Voracova (the Czech Republic).

Alexandra Cadantu, who won the title of the BRD Bucharest Open in 2014 together with Elena Bogdan, will play alongside Danka Kovinic (Montenegro), against the duo made up of Dutch Lesley Kerkhove/Arantxa Rus.

Georgia Craciun and Alexandra Dulgheru will have a difficult event in the first round against second seeded Elise Mertens (Belgium)/Demis Schuurs (the Netherlands).
