The average number of employees increased in 2016 by 1.7 as compared to the previous year and the highest share of the average number of employees was recorded in the industry, representing 34.8 pct of the overall number, according to data from the National Institute of Statistics (INS) released on Tuesday.
At the end of 2016, the industry sector featured 53,741 enterprises, respectively 10.7 of the overall number of enterprises active in the economic sectors (industry, constructions, trade and market services). The greatest share was held by enterprises active within the "market services" sector, of 45.4 pct respectively.
The industry sector attracted most of the gross investments, 38.1 pct, followed by the market services sectors - 34 pct, constructions - 15.4 pct and trade - 12.5 pct.
As regards the turnover, the greatest share was held by the enterprises having trade as main activity (40.5 pct), while construction enterprises only recorded 5.8 pct.
The structure of gross value added at factors cost by sectors in 2016, was as follows: 36.9 pct in industry, 6.7 pct in construction, 22.9 pct in trade and 33.5 pct in market services.AGERPRES .
