Employees of the Interior Ministry and other Romanian public organisations will be trained, in the next four years, in the prevention of and the fight against corruption in public administration, including in relation with public procurement and management of projects on European funds.
Thus, 1,475 staff will get trained under an EU-funded project for efficient mechanisms to prevent and combat corruption in public administration, including in relation with public procurement and management of projects on European funds. They will be updated on all legislative modifications and good practices developed at the partner organisations, according to Director General of the General Anti-Corruption Directorate (DGA) Catalin Ionita.
"The project has three modules - a 12-training-session module for 300 people; a 37-training-session module for 555 Interior Ministry employees and people from partner organisations, as well as a five-training-session module for 200 investigators of crimes against the financial interests of the EU," Ionita said, adding that after the training the beneficiaries should no longer claim they do not know the public procurement technical details and procedures.
The DGA project funded by home security funds started this May. Its budget is nearly 3.6 million lei, VAT excluded, with the DGA covering 25 percent of the funds and the EU providing the remaining amount. agerpres.
