The effects of the Code Red of heavy rains have not been significant overall so far in the Capital, where only pluvial floods have been recorded, being areas where the sewage system cannot cope, the National Administration ''Apele Române'' (ANAR) informed on Wednesday.

"For Colentina, it has been switched to accumulation mode, that is, if until now, the discharged flows increased from 3 mc/s to 8 mc/s, currently, the accumulation has returned to the initial mode. For Dambovita, it was acted upon in correlation with Apa Nova, the box was at the limit, but it did not enter pressure. From the information we have at this time from Apa Nova Bucharest, flows of about 110 - 120 mc/s (collected by the sewage network from the entire area of Bucharest) were transited through the box, compared to 3 mc/s that the Dâmbovita River had at the entrance to Lake Morii. Above this flow, the sewage comes under pressure and the covers start to overflow onto the streets. For the Unirii flat area, there were no problems with the transit of flows to the surface, "The builder kept the cofferdam installed," an ANAR press release reads.

Precipitations higher than about 80 - 100 l/sq m were recorded in the south of Bucharest, respectively in Giurgiu County, without any particular problems. In the Dridu reservoir, almost 4 million m3/s were accumulated and on Mostistea (Calarasi) slight increases in the levels in the reservoirs were recorded.

Also, no particular problems were recorded, as a result of the amounts of precipitation recorded in the counties of Calarasi, Ialomita, Giurgiu and Tulcea.

In the last hours, as a result of the precipitation recorded in the last 24 hours, in Constanţa County, two danger levels have been exceeded, respectively at the Cheia hydrometric station, on the Casimcea River, and at the Băltăgesti hydrometric station, on the Danube Valley, with levels increasing. ANAR has 100 people in the field and 19 pieces of equipment mobilized at the county level.

Hydrometric stations in Constanta county where over 70 l/sq m, but also over 100 l/sq m were recorded in the last 24 hours (at 12:00) are: Baltageşti station, Danube valley - 140 l/sq m; Mihail Kogalniceanu station, Agi Cabul river - 120 l/sq m; Nuntasi station, Nuntasi river - 127 l/sq m; Topalu station, Danube river - 127.2 l/sq m; Nisipari station, Nisipari river - 91 l/sq m; Dorobantu station, Dorobanţu river - 85 l/sq m; Pantelimon station, Râmnic river - 86.8 l/sq m; Techirghiol station, Techirghiol river 82.2 l/sq m; Casimcea station, Casimcea river 77.6 l/sq m; Ciobanu station, Danube river - 74 l/sq m; Cheia station, Casimcea river - 72.6 l/sq m.

In the last 48 hours, in Giurgiu County, the maximum recorded at the Giurgiu hydrometeorological station was 131.6 l/sq m. Precipitation was also recorded in Zimnicea, Teleorman County - 101.3 l/sq m; Bucharest - Filaret - 57 l/sq m; Turnu Magurele - 73.6 l/sq m; Oltenita, Calarasi County - 83.3 l/sq m.

"For the precipitation forecast until tomorrow, we do not expect major problems in Ialomiţa and Calarasi. We continue monitoring the areas under the hydrological Red Code in the counties of Constanta and Tulcea. According to the hydrometeorological forecasts, after 15:00, the Red Code will turn into orange. The National Administration 'Apele Române' appeals to the owners of dams and small accumulations to comply with the Operating Regulations and to immediately notify the institution of any change or unforeseen event. At the level of the central and basin dispatches, a permanent information flow is ensured. Hydrological warnings issued by the National Institute of Hydrology and Water Management (INHGA) are immediately transmitted to the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (IGSU), which further communicates them to the local authorities," the press release states.
