Projects worth almost 2.9 billion RON have been submitted under the "Recycling Factories" programme, financed through the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR), with the list of approved investments to be published in the coming period, the Environment Fund Administration (AFM) informs on Thursday, in a press release sent to AGERPRES.
"Since taking over my mandate as head of the Environment Fund Administration, I have given priority to unlocking financing through the PNRR to build at least 26 recycling plants, for which the AFM has assumed the attraction of approximately 220 million euros. These funds, together with Romania's commitments to join the OECD, represent clear, priority and extremely important objectives for Romania. Their fulfillment is imperative, not only for the development of the recycling infrastructure and the circular economy, but also to support the Romanian business environment, including SMEs, in the construction of modern waste recycling facilities," said the AFM President, Florin Banica, quoted in the press release.
Within the framework of the "Recycling Factories" programme, 140 files were submitted for 144 installations, with a total value of 2,888,054,976 RON, from the PNRR, the equivalent of 581,788,234.75 EUR.
According to the same source, through this funding, specific activities will be supported for the construction of separately collected waste recycling installations in order to reduce the impact of waste on the environment and the population, to reduce resource consumption in order to promote sustainable economic development in all regions and to achieve the recycling objectives of the circular economy package and in accordance with the National Waste Management Plan/county waste management plans, respectively with the Waste Management Plan of the Municipality of Bucharest.
The maximum eligible value of state aid granted within a project is 8.4 million EUR, and the minimum that can be requested is 500,000 EUR.
