Minister of Finance Viorel Stefan has stated that, in the meeting that will take place on Wednesday with President Klaus Iohannis, the members of the Cabinet will go with a concept regarding the budgetary projection on this year, project that, he hopes, will be presented in Parliament during January.
"Tomorrow (e.n. - Wednesday), at 15:00, we will meet the President, in fact the Prime Minister is meeting the President, I will also be there. And surely, until tomorrow at 15:00, we will try to have a well defined set of arguments that proves our projection both on incomes and on expenditures and especially the vision regarding the macroeconomic indicators are correct, all of them. We will adopt a sustainable budgetary projection that will remain within 3 percent deficit. We go to Cotroceni [Presidential Palace] with a concept regarding the budgetary projection, we are working intensely on this project and it will be presented, we hope, during this month," Stefan declared, at the Palace of the Parliament, at the end of a meeting with the deputies of the Budget-Finance Committee.
Asked if the President's concerns are justified, the Finance Minister answered that concerns should determine a responsible behaviour from all.
"We too are concerned, because concerns should determine a responsible behaviour from all. When you are designing the budget of a county, the attitude that you need to have is of responsibility, that does not exclude concern. Yes, we are concerned, because we need to have some firm actions, we must come with a new concept to design the budget," he mentioned.
