The Arta Foundation, in partnership with the EthnicMarket.ro platform, launches the first map of ethnic restaurants in Romania, a project dedicated to culinary diversity and the discovery of world tastes in Romania, informs a press release of the foundation.
The map brings together places from all over the country where you can enjoy authentic ethnic food - from restaurants and bistros, to street food or food court spaces.
To begin with, the map includes 100 restaurants in Bucharest, representing cuisines from all corners of the world - from Chinese, Japanese and Indian, to Lebanese, Georgian, Cuban or African. In the coming months, the project will expand to other large cities in the country, such as Cluj-Napoca, Iasi, Brasov or Timisoara.
According to the same source, the project is a collaborative one, open to the public. Anyone can contribute to its completion by indicating ethnic restaurants that deserve to be included, through a form available on the website ethnicmarket.ro/harta.
"We believe that this map will become a useful tool for all those who love ethnic food and diversity. Going to an ethnic restaurant is not only about taste, but also about curiosity, about people and stories. Sometimes, sharing a plate is enough to turn a stranger into a friend," said Serban Cornaciu, communications manager of the "Food Brings Us Together" project, in a press release.
The map of ethnic restaurants is part of the cultural project "Food Brings Us Together - Old and New Ethnic Recipes from Romania", initiated by the Arta Foundation, which explores Romanian gastronomy from a multiethnic and multicultural perspective, showing how food can be a bridge between people, traditions and cultures.
The project is co-financed by the Administration of the National Cultural Fund (AFCN).
