Prime Minister Viorica Dancila has repeatedly lied in Brussels and "promoted in the European Parliament speeches of the criminals" which is "a step of unprecedented gravity," leader of the Liberal deputies Raluca Turcan said on Wednesday, adding that the only solution would be the resignation of PM Dancila, according to Agerpres.
The Liberal Member of the Parliament asserted that the National Liberal Party (PNL) demands publicly that PM Dancila should put a halt to the assault on the state institutions.
"At the same time, we publicly call on premier Dancila that she stop the assault within the country on the state institutions, the assault on the independent media, to put an end to the pressure against the civil society and allow the parliamentary opposition to manifest itself within the legal and constitutional framework. Rules are invented every day, pretexts are found to amputate the public debate," added Raluca Turcan.
According to her, the prime minister's speech in the European Parliament was a lie from start to finish.
"I fear the worst should this gov't further represent Romania's interests internally and internationally. Today, in Brussels the prime minister of this country's gov't lied repeatedly, promoted in the EP speeches of the criminals, this is an approach of an unprecedented gravity. I've never heard in the EP speeches that have no connection whatsoever with reality, that vilify the free citizens and endanger the individual security of their own citizens. To lie in connection with the so-called reforms in Justice, to lie in connection with the visible repression of the peaceful protest of 10 August, to lie in connection with the Gendarmerie's moves, to lie in connection with everything you do in your country, but have no power to admit it, it means in fact that you dishonor your country and put your citizens in danger. (...) It was an enumeration of false assertions. Rarely was I given to see a prime minister with a speech that was a lie from start to finish," Turcan added.
